Mr. DeSimone is experienced in all phases of civil litigation defense. Currently, his practice is focused on representing health care providers in medical malpractice cases and in investigations and hearings conducted by the Department of Public Health. He has particular experience in the areas of oncology, pulmonary and renal medicine and infectious diseases. Mr. DeSimone is experienced in the area of health care fraud and abuse. He counsels health care providers regarding state and federal health care regulatory matters. He has knowledge of and experience with the application of complex health care compliance laws and regulations at both the state and federal levels, including HIPAA, the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Stark law regulations. He has worked with various Assistant U.S. Attorneys in this regard. Mr. DeSimone has experience with medical billing and coding requirements, and provider contracting with health plan networks. He is certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC) by the Health Care Compliance Association.

Mr. DeSimone also has extensive experience in mass toxic tort litigation and management and was directly responsible for the litigation management of thousands of cases in a thirteen state region.

Pro Bono Activities
Mr. DeSimone serves as pro bono attorney representing children in judicial proceedings initiated by the Connecticut Dept. of Children and Families. Mr. DeSimone has been awarded the Connecticut Bar Association Pro Bono Honor Roll award each year since 2005.

Community Activities
Mr. DeSimone has been a member of St. James Church in Rocky Hill since 1990, where he has been an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist since 2000. He is a member of the St. James Stewardship Committee, and is a former member of the St. James Pastoral Council having served as its Chairperson from 2001-2005.
